More than 30,000 residents now connected across 1,200 Anchor sites as later living digital transformation reaches new milestone

LONDON – 28 September 2026 – More than 30,000 residents across 1,200 Anchor later living properties, with over 100,000 devices are now using Wifinity’s connectivity network each month. The milestone marks a significant stage in the ongoing partnership between Wifinity and Anchor to modernise digital infrastructure across one of the UK’s largest providers of housing and care for people in later life.

The programme has delivered reliable connectivity across a diverse estate that includes retirement housing, extra care schemes and care homes. As the rollout has progressed, digital infrastructure has become an increasingly important foundation for resident wellbeing, staff productivity and the delivery of day-to-day services.

Reaching 1,200 connected sites demonstrates both the scale of the programme and the pace of delivery. The rollout continues across the remaining estate, with a further 400 sites planned as part of Anchor’s wider digital transformation programme.

The partnership is also supporting a broader range of technology initiatives. Alongside WiFi connectivity, the infrastructure is enabling residential and operational services across Anchor such as Teams-based telephony, connectivity for Anchor’s corporate locations and the future deployment of digital warden call technology across the estate, supporting residents’ care.

The programme has required tailored approaches across a wide variety of property types. Deployments have ranged from modern developments to historic buildings where connectivity must be delivered while preserving the character and fabric of the environment.

Kerry Edmondson, Director of Technology & Data, Anchor said “Reliable connectivity plays an increasingly important role in supporting residents and colleagues across our communities. This milestone demonstrates the progress that can be achieved through strong partnership working and a shared focus on delivering better digital experiences.”

Katie Bean, Head of Delivery, Wifinity said “Connecting more than 30,000 users across 1,200 sites is an important milestone in our partnership with Anchor. It reflects the commitment of both organisations to improving connectivity for residents and colleagues, while creating a platform that can support future digital services across the estate.”

The work carried out to date has established a digital foundation for future innovation across the Anchor estate, helping residents stay connected while enabling new services that support the delivery of housing, care and support.
