30 blocks, eight accommodation sites get better service
In 2014, Optify, later acquired by Wifinity, won a contract to supply connectivity to eight hospital sites in the South East. These sites included Frimley Park, Hammersmith, Heatherwood, Hillingdon, Nuffield Orthopaedic, Queen Victoria, St George’s and Stoke Mandeville.
This covers 1,637 rooms, in 30 blocks across the eight sites.
In 2019, MTVH awarded a ten year contract extension to Wifinity. Since then, we have supplied managed high speed WiFi and wired broadband.
The successes
We deployed superfast broadband over WiFi and Ethernet with in corridor access points and overlay services. This gave keyworkers high speed WiFi across the site.
Residents and visitors can use our broadband service. They can sign up for great value WiFi and be online in minutes without long term contracts or hardware installation.
As part of the contract renewal, we upgraded the hardware so residents could access the fastest speeds possible. In addition, we installed 50 digital signs across the eight sites.
We also rolled out training for the MTVH teams to give on site support. In addition, ongoing upgrades are planned so customers can access speeds of up to 1 Gb/s on our flexible broadband contracts.
