Wifinity provides managed student accommodation WiFi at East Slope, the University of Sussex’s flagship residential development.
Delivered as part of the East Slope redevelopment programme, our managed connectivity service supports 2,117 student bedrooms across townhouses and flats, alongside administration facilities and guest access requirements.
The solution provides reliable, high-speed connectivity across the development, helping students stay connected wherever they live, study and socialise.
The challenge
Delivering reliable WiFi across a large-scale student accommodation development
The University of Sussex redeveloped East Slope to create over 1,500 additional student bedrooms as part of a major campus investment programme.
The new accommodation required:
- High-performance student accommodation WiFi across 2,117 student rooms
- Consistene coverage across multiple residential buildings
- Separate and secure access for students and guests
- A resilient infrastructure with no single point of failure
- Simple network management for university team
The Solution
A managed PBSA WiFi network built for student living
Wifinity designed, installed and manages a dedicated student accommodation WiFi solution across the East Slope development, including:
- WiFi connectivity across 2,117 student rooms
- Seamless network coverage across residential buildings
- More than 1,000 hardwired administration ports
- Separate guest and student WiFi services
- Network infrastructure designed to minimise service disruption
- Backup power provision to support critical network services during power outages
The solution enables students to remain connected as they move throughout the accommodation while maintaining a secure and reliable experience.
