Happy Armed Forces Day 2024! The day is dedicated to celebrating, honouring, and acknowledging the contributions and sacrifices of those who serve or have served in the British Armed Forces.
It aims to raise awareness of the roles and capabilities of the Armed Forces, fostering a closer relationship between service personnel and civilians.
Wifinity proudly supports our defence communities through our connectivity services at over 150+ sites. Along with broadband for service family accommodation homes. We know how crucial connectivity is in transforming lives and our goal is that our services improve the lived experience and aid retention rates for personnel in the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force
We have a deep-rooted commitment to the unique needs of this community. Aligning ourselves with our customers is not just a priority; it’s a core part of who we are. As a company we have 14 ex-Services veterans and one current reservist in our team (it was Reserves Day on Wednesday).
Our pledge to support the defence community is also consolidated by our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant. We hold the Silver Award for our efforts. Our support comes in many forms, including:
• A mobilisation policy ensuring anyone called to active duty has a place at Wifinity when they return.
• 10 days additional paid leave per year for Reservists for training.
• 10 days additional paid leave per year for Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV) for training.
• 28 days of additional unpaid leave to support spouses or partners of service personnel in case of injury or deployment.
• A supportive community of veterans working throughout the business.
• Opportunities to volunteer and support Cadet communities, with access to training leave and flexible arrangements.
• Guaranteed interviews for Cadets.
• All roles are advertised on Career Transition Partnership (CTP) and Forces Family Jobs (FFJ) platforms, with each applicant receiving a screening call at a minimum.
As we celebrate Armed Forces Day, at Wifinity we reaffirm our commitment to supporting our defence communities.
From the entire team, we say thank you.
