LONDON, 24 JUNE 2026 – Enfield Council is upgrading its connectivity network to deliver faster, more reliable internet across 27 public sites, helping its staff work more efficiently and making access to digital services easier for residents. Wifinity will provide and manage the service.
The project will replace an older, slower central hub at key locations, improving performance at the Civic Centre, Thomas Hardy House, Community House and Enfield Town Library, among others. Each site has two connections, providing a direct internet connection and helping services continue if one link fails. It will also support better performance of its services and tools, such as Microsoft 365.
Better connectivity will also support digital inclusion, particularly for residents without a reliable connection at home who use council locations to get online,
Wifinity will design, install, monitor and manage the service, with ongoing support provided through its UK-based Network Operations Centre. The contract was awarded through the Crown Commercial Service Network Services 3 framework.
Building on its experience supporting other London local authorities, including the London Boroughs of Newham and Havering, Wifinity will help Enfield Council create a stronger, more flexible network to support its long-term digital plans. Wifinity also has teams based locally, supporting close collaboration and quick response times.
