Wifinity-powered eSports suites live at six MOD sites to boost morale, cyber and digital skills

LONDON – 9 October 2025: Wifinity, the leading provider of high-performance managed internet services, has announced that its network is behind six new eSports suites at MOD sites. The facilities meet demand for competitive and recreational gaming across the Army, Royal Navy and RAF. They support welfare, morale and the development of digital and cyber skills.

Wifinity’s resilient, low-latency networks power the new suites at Leuchars Station (Scotland), Blandford Camp (Dorset), St George’s Barracks (North Luffenham), HMS Collingwood and Marne Barracks (Catterick Garrison). It also connects the eSports suite at the Super Diner at St Omer Barracks, Aldershot.

Its infrastructure delivers high-bandwidth, ultra-reliable connectivity for immersive gaming, tri-service tournaments and inter-base leagues. It plans more eSports networks.

eSports is an official military sport and a valuable part of the modern services experience. Competitive gaming encourages strategic thinking, communication, teamwork and problem-solving. It is a practical route for digital learning, builds cyber awareness, IT confidence and use of emerging technologies.

Wifinity’s mission is to enhance the lived experience through better connectivity and digital inclusion. The suites demonstrate how its network infrastructure can be extended to support defence, commercial and recreational uses.

“eSports aligns with the Armed Forces’ values of teamwork, resilience and tactical thinking,” said Oliver Walter, head of defence and public sector, Wifinity. “We’re supporting recreation and wellbeing and helping develop essential digital and cyber skills critical to maintaining a competitive edge in modern conflict.”
