Two London boroughs launch public and corporate connectivity with Wifinity to support digital inclusion

London, 19 December 2025 – Wifinity, the managed internet service provider, is launching new connectivity services across two Greater London boroughs. Employees, businesses and residents using council-owned venues in Havering and Newham will benefit from a new WiFi service supporting digital inclusion, learning, employability and access to council services.

The rollout will cover more than 100 public sites from libraries and town halls to children’s centres and community hubs, delivering secure, high-speed and reliable connectivity for council staff, guests and third-sector users.

Supporting digital inclusion and local economic growth

The service supports both councils’ digital and community strategies and their shared goal of creating resident-focused and resilient digital services. Both council areas have the goal of supporting growth in the local digital and data economy. In Newham, research by UCL has named the borough as a key area for innovation in AI and data, with potential for over 5,500 new jobs and £104m in added local value by 2035.

Secure managed connectivity for councils and communities

Wifinity’s managed solution meets UK data protection and public WiFi standards. The simple-to-access service delivers high-speed performance for council staff and the public. Wifinity manages the service end-to-end, allowing local authorities to focus on delivering citizen services rather than infrastructure.

These contracts have been awarded under the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Network Services 3 (NS3) framework (RM6116) where Wifinity is a named supplier for both Lot 1a (WAN/inter-site connectivity) and Lot 2a (LAN/local connectivity). As an approved supplier, local authorities can procure Wifinity’s WAN, SD WAN, LAN and broader managed network services directly through the framework.

Building on public sector connectivity experience

These wins build on Wifinity’s recent success in delivering public sector connectivity for central government departments. The company announced a major central government contract last month. This demonstrates its ability to meet complex digital requirements across the public sector.
